    Programs and Activities

    Beginner and Intermediate Karate For Ages 6 and Up

    Group classes every Monday and Wednesday -- in the Clubhouse:
    Learn a new skill and have fun doing it! Beginning students will develop self confidence and learn the fundamentals of karate. This class teaches simple exercise drills to increase attention span, concentration and motor skills. Class content includes various blocks, kicks, punches, self defense techniques and light sparring.

    Courageous Girls Karate and Self-Defense

    This exciting new karate class has been designed specifically for girls ages 8 to 80. Participants will benefit from learning a blended set of skills including strength development, confidence building, awareness of risks, fast thinking and basic defense strategies.

    One-hour classes are held in the Hurricane Creek Clubhouse every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00 pm. Monthly tuition is just $40 per person. Even better, your first two get-acquainted classes are free.

    Classes are led by Black Belt Sharon McDarmont. Enjoy this valuable program with your mom, daughter, sister or friend.

         Tennis Courts and Tennis Lessons

    The Club’s tennis courts are open to members year round. Please sign in at the snack stand during the summertime pool season. During the “off season” courts are available on a first-come basis.

    American Red Cross Swim Program

    We offer three levels of American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim lessons for all ages, even toddlers. These one-on-one programs are available by appointment all summer long. All instructors are certified by the American Red Cross in Water Safety Instruction, Lifeguard Training with First-Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Program participation is limited to HCRA club members.

    Sign up now for one-on-one guitar or drum lessons with an experienced and enthusiastic instructor, UTC masters graduate Matt McDarmont. All ages welcome.

    Join your neighbors and friends for a free family movie night at the Hurricane Creek Clubhouse. All Hurricane Creek Residents are invited; no need to be a pool member. The movie starts at 7:00 pm in the clubhouse. Free popcorn, sodas and bottled water.
